CHIPPER DAYS
Provo Fire Department has received multiple questions about Provo Chipper Days and have realized that there has been some misunderstanding as to the areas it will take place. The chipping program is meant for residents with a property that borders the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). The WUI is an area where development exists next to undeveloped land. This area presents a high-hazard as wildfires in the WUI can quickly spread into neighborhoods. For Phase 2 neighborhoods, we will be contacting individual homeowners bordering the WUI about what they can do to mitigate risk. If you don’t live near the WUI and you have yard debris that needs to be removed, the spring cleanup Provo sponsors will begin on March 29th.
